Warning: Gumi is currently ded to the world. AutoGumi took over the translation. Unfortunately, she could only translate without fixing any continuity error or reduce weirdness.
SnarkyGumi, however, is still hard at work.
Go home, SnarkyGumi.
The battle on the stage has reached a fever-pitched.
It would not be long before a winning team was announced.
“Cough!” Feng Luo spat out a mouthful of blood. His opponent punched him repeatedly in the stomach, but he still refused to let go of the person. His Spiritual power had been exhausted but he still refuses to admit defeat. As long as he kept this one person occupied, that’s one less person for the rest of his team to worry about.
[1]There was blood all around him. Not a lot of it was from his opponent, most of the blood was his.
Not far from him, Xuan Yin stood with a pale face. One arm was broken and a thigh laceration so deep that that one could catch a glimpse of bone. Blood gushed out with every movement. Dong-Fang Zheng could only stare helplessly at the stage. If Qi Chuyun was not there to stop him, he would have rushed onto the stage to save his wife.
“Do you give up?” the large man opposite Xuan Yin mercilessly made another cut on Xuan Yin’s leg [2]. However, the girl continued to attack him frenziedly, as though she did not feel any pain.
Was it the lack of pain that made her brave?
No, it was not the lack of pain. Otherwise, her hand would not have shaken when he cut her leg. [3]
A chill ran down the large man’s body. He realised that the woman in front of him was no soft girl. She might not be very strong, but she had lasted a very long time against him and still refused to give up. If she was just a bit stronger, sure the one facing death would be him?
When he realised this [4], the chill from the bottom of his spine surged upwards and froze his brain, causing a trace of fear in his heart.
The moment he became stunned from realisation, Xuan Yin seized the opportunity to stab with her sword and thrust her body against him. Pushing him down and causing many bones to snap [5].
The ‘pala’ of snapping bones was audible to the people around them. After all, they were all high-level Cultivators and even then, they could barely keep themselves from flinching at the sound.
“What a bunch of ruthless people. Ruthless to their opponents and ruthless to themselves,” they all thought. If they were to fight against a group of vicious people like this, what would happen? [6]
“Young people, ah. Must be ruthless so that they would not be bullied in the future. At first, I believed that the Imperial College was just one of those many nameless Cultivating school out there. Who would have thought that their students would be so outstanding? They are all still young, once they brokethrough to Divine Condensation Stage…”
Suddenly, the man stopped speaking.
For a single College to produce seven Divine Condensation Experts all at once… moreover, they haven’t even taken into consideration all the other students that were not in the arena… Just this thought alone was very shocking.
However, would it really happen?
The man returned his gaze onto the stage. The young men and women on the platform were still young, but their current ability was enough to turn many green with envy.
Would such a day really come?
As the man continued to ponder over this, there was another change on the platform. Shiyu had taken this opportunity to kick her opponent off the stage. This time, there were no surprises. The man fell off the stage and onto the ground.
Next, Shiyu quickly went to assist Feng Luo, who was the closest to her and took over his fight. Just then, Qing Chen also managed to drive his opponent away with a sword thrust and came over to engage with Xuan Yin’s opponent.
Right now the match was 5 vs 3. Although Xuan Yin and Feng Luo were badly injured and weakened, having more people on the stage still made a difference.
Once Qing Chen sent the third opponent off stage, the tides of battle had turned in favour of the Imperial College.
Just then, the black sword in Lin Fan’s hand suddenly shone brightly. On the other side, not to be undone, Fire Wolf’s body flared up in response. With two people blazing with powerful lights, it was so dazzling that people found it difficult to look directly at the stage.
“Three Shadow Wolf Stance!”
“Heavenly Inquisition Sword!”
With loud battle cries, the two lights collided and Spiritual powers exploded causing the audience to fall backwards one after another from the unexpected impact. Just as everyone was recovering their wits, there was another explosion and the tiles shattered under the two men. Finally, the two collapsed to the floor, coughing and spitting up blood.
Right now, only three people were left standing on the shattered stage. Shiyu and Qing Chen wiped the blood off the corners of their lips [7] and their eyes fell sharply on their final opponent. Together, they rushed up and sent the opponent off the stage.
“Winner!”
Relieved, Shiyu collapsed to the ground first. Qing Chen propped himself up with his sword, but he was clearly at the end of his tether.
“Congratulations! You have won the group fight! With 2 points from the individual battle and 3 points from the group fight, the College Champions and Fire Wolves are now tied!” [8] The master of ceremonies said excitedly. This was not the ending he had expected. “Normally, the tie-breaking fight would happen after this, but since both teams can no longer continue. The fight will take place seven days later.”
In other words, just because they managed to get into the 7 vs 7 playoffs, their victory was not assured. [9]
Still, the audience got to their feet and cheered excitedly for their favourite team.
Since ancient times, it was not common for the underdog to beat the strong, especially on a stage like this. In fact, one could say it was an often seen phenomenon. Still, the sight of someone standing up and sticking to their beliefs was something that would stir the blood of those who witnessed it. [10]
The vast majority of the people in this world cannot stick to their principles. Therefore, when they see others sticking to their principles with their own eyes, they could not help but admire them. This was probably the general feeling of the crowd now. [11]
On the stage, Shiyu managed to gather a little strength, enough to hobble off the stage with Qing Chen. Together, they collected the three other teammates on the stage and, while supporting each other’s bloodied state, slowly limped off.
Dong-Fang Zhen and Qi Chuyun hurried over with medicinal wines in hand, “Drink this quickly. You’ve really messed yourself up this time. I thought you were going to go all out, but not to this point.”
“As long as we’re not dead, we can keep fighting. Otherwise, how are we supposed to win against a powerful opponent?” Shiyu was breathing shallowly. If no one was supporting her, she would have collapsed to the floor already.
Dong-Fang Zhen looked at them in dismay. He had been living under the impression that protecting one’s own life for so long that it was hard for him to understand the desperate fight happening in front of him. Nevertheless, he could not help but admire them.
“Well, rest and recover the best you can first,” he carefully picked Xuan Yin up and tenderly bandaged her injuries for her.
As for the rest, the pain in their bodies has receded after drinking the medicinal wine. In a short while, they should be able to apply medicine and bandages on themselves.

SnarkyGumi’s Notes:
[1] Why didn’t the guy just punch him in the face and knock him out or throw FL off stage? [2] Because she’s just standing there for you cut, so why not? [3] It’s all so mechanical, hahaha. [4] Repetitive, I’d normally delete, but eh. [5] Aren’t you high-level people supposed to have stronger bones? Especially guy who is 7 levels higher than XY? I’d expect Xuan Yin to break her bones instead. SnarkyGumi doubled checked, XY body checked the guy so hard that several bones snapped. =_=;;; [6] Unclear whose thought this was, probably the audience as per the next paragraph. [7] Why so dramatically in sync? [8] Dude, give more info. Group fights are worth 3 points. So 2+3 = 5. Both teams are now tied at 5 all. Ahah, SnarkyGumi accidentally fixed it during the edit… [9] Like, how did you even get this conclusion from what the master of ceremonies said? Why ‘in other words’? [10] Hmm, ‘it’s not rare, but it still boils the blood’ kind of lessens the impact, innit? [11] This explanation is so half-assed.

[11] The author seems to have left a lot of stuff out in this chapter as there are a lot of uneditable gaps. Maybe the author had writer’s block but was under pressure to keep putting out new chapters so that the WN keeps getting new votes to remain high on a ranking list at buzz generating WN publishing places like Alphapolis, Kakuyomu, or Syosetu. So the author dared to put out an incomplete chapter just to have a new WN chapter to release. Because without fresh chapters, the flood of new votes stop coming in and competing WN move ahead in the ranking race. I don’t know if that is the case for Little Cooking Saint as I don’t follow the author’s RAW at the WN publishing site. Some authors go back to fix problems (eg Death March), but most others just keep churning out new chapters such that readers must assume any gaps or WN retcons will be fixed in the official LN publication.
I’m not sure how she plans to fix this one…
Her previous fixes ended up with much shorter chapters leaving even more stuff out. Hence why I bothered to heavily edit and incorporate nearly 10 deleted chapters back when we were still in the 30s.
