Once we reached the main building’s living room, I called Aiya over.

“Erm, Aiya, your health is still not very good, right?”

The moment the words were out of my mouth, the husband, Toni, bowed his head.

[7] Aiya cried, “I’m recovering, I will recover very soon. So, please, please don’t abandon me.”

Aiya’s children clutched at her sleeves, staring at me with anxious faces.

Ahah, it looks like they had mistaken my intentions. [1] Look, since I’ve already bought you guys, I won’t give you up now. [5]

“No, no, that’s not why I called you out, I just…”

Anyway, instead of trying to explain myself and getting them to tell me the details of her sickness, let’s just use [Appraisal] on Aiya and see whether she can be cured.

Hmm, according to [Appraisal], Aiya is suffering from some sort of lung disease. Though her family had gotten into debt to cure her, the sickness has not been completely cleared away.

If that’s the case, I should use this.

I took out one of Sui’s Special Elixir (low grade) from my [Item Box]. [1] It’s something I had Sui made back in Doran when I encountered Darryl and Eris and heard the sad story about their sick mother.

I had two left from that time, [1] and am handing one of Sui’s Special Elixir to Aiya now.

“Here, drink this. It will cure your illness.”

Aiya accepted the elixir from me with a confused face.

“Excuse me, is this a potion? The colour is a little different from the ones I had seen before…” [3] said Toni. He looked worried, [1] which is totally fitting since his wife would be the one drinking this mysterious draft after all.

“It’s an elixir that could cure pretty much any illness in one go,” I explained.

A burst of ‘bufo!’ exploded from the five former Adventurers. [1] Eww, that’s dirty…

“No, no, no, Mukouda-san, you can’t use an elixir like that,” [3] Tabasa said earnestly.

Luke said, “Even as an S Ranker and someone who has cleared the Doran dungeon, I’m sure Mukouda-san must have gone through a lot of trouble to get his hands on a treasure from the dungeons. Why would you waste it on a slave?!” [5]

“Wait, how did you know-”

“Th-that’s right!” Irvine said. [3] “A single tiny bottle of elixir is so precious that it is worth more than all of us slaves put together.”

Umu, that’s right! The moment anything with the word ‘elixir’ appear in the market, nobles would suddenly show up in the droves to buy driving the price even higher,” [3] said Bartel excitedly.

Peter said nothing but kept nodding and going ‘un, un’ at everything the others said.

Eeehhh…. Well, it’s not like I had gotten it through much trouble…

“Ahem, this is just a low-grade elixir. All it does is cure illnesses and injuries but can’t extend lifespan. Anyway, I made it myself so it’s all fine,” I said, trying to make it seem all normal.

Instead, the five former Adventurers appeared even more excited.

“Y-you made it? Mukouda-san made this elixir?”

“… wait, can elixirs be made?”

“I remember hearing from this from an elf I met a long time ago. A recipe of the elixir exists but it can’t be made because the required ingredients are too difficult to obtain,” said Bartel.

Ah, I guess it made sense for the oldest person here to know things like that?

“Wait, wait, so what are the ingredients?”

“Among other things, the liver and blood of a dragon, as well as lots of other very valuable materials…”

“… …” [7] all five adventurers were now staring at me silently.

I should… probably change the subject.

“A-anyway, let’s not talk about that anymore. It’s just one of those things I have access to, which is why I can use it on Aiya. Well? Go on, go on, drink up,”

Just hurry up and drink it before those five starts talking nonsense again.

The Toni family were currently sobbing and saying ‘Thank you’ over and over again. [1] Yes, yes, I understand, don’t you start worshipping me now.

The children, Costi and Celia were crying and saying things like, ‘I will work hard’ and ‘I will work very, very hard’. Please don’t, it’s enough for children to assist their parents to their best ability.

“Erm, Aiya, could you please hurry up and drink it?”

With a final deep bow, Aiya swallowed down Sui’s Special Elixir (low grade).

Immediately after drinking the elixir, her body suddenly glowed white. [1] Everyone stared at Aiya in shock but the light soon subsided. [5]

It was the first time I see someone drink one of Sui’s elixirs in front of my eyes, so I’m a little worried.

“A-are you alright?”

As soon as I spoke, Aiya suddenly started laughing and crying at the same time. [3] “I’m fine… all the pain and suffocation in my body is gone. It’s all gone!” [5]

Her family surged around her, happily hugging each other as they laughed and cried at the same time.

Aahh, I’m glad too. [2] She certainly looks much better now. When I used [Appraisal] on her, it showed that her illness was gone. [5]

Alright! As expected of Sui’s Special Elixirs.

Anyway, once things calmed down, the next thing to do is to cook the meal I promised Lotte-chan.

The idiot twins were still muttering to each other, going on and on about ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe he really used the elixir on a slave’ and ‘I could play for the rest of my life if I sell one of those, what an idiot’.

Excuse me, I can hear you, you know?

Please make sure the boss is out of hearing before you start talking behind his back.

Still, those two are so stupid that I don’t even feel like getting angry at them.

Haaaahhh…

Gumi: For all the excitement, it’s pretty short. Though it did almost break the 1000 word limit…

Fer: Umu, that’s because you deleted things again

Gumi: Shut up, it’s all stupid stuff like ‘their mouth dropped opened and stare in shock etc’ when author already said they were surprised just one paragraph ago. And praises about Sui’s elixir ‘wow, as expected, yada yada yada’

Fer: Almost break, that means it still hasn’t break. Why isn’t this a bonus?

Gumi: … because the following chapter is over 2000 long and I can’t-

Fer: Weak.

Gumi: Yeah? Well your Ninril is a ninny for sweets

Fer: You dare-!!

“Just low-grade…” as if the “just low-grade” can cure almost all (if not all) kind of illnesses and injuries aren’t already precious enough….

  2. Nobody

FYI, the sorting is a little off on the table of contents because chapters 309 and 312 start with Tondemo Skills instead of Tondemo Skill like the rest

  3. SFcipher

Perhaps he is having a case of buyer’s remorse about the twins.
    Thanks for the treat.

Oh noes, Fer transcended the world of his novel, and it’s now arguing with the translator. I wonder who can buy or cook him dinner. On the other side, as expected the elixir made a huge ruckus, and I’m worried some fool might find out that adorable Sui made the elixir, and then later find out how Sui can be less adorable, and much more like Fer.
Thanks for the first chapter this week! Awesome translation! May God bless you!

Never thought I would be entertained by an imaginary quarrel between a fictional character and a translator.
Hats off madam. I am impressed.

    1. Gumihou

That Fer is so condescending, humph!

  6. michael munthe

Hahahhah.. I like your quarrel with fer..
