As soon as I entered the Adventurer’s Guild, the Guild Master appeared to greet us. I think he had his staff keep an eye out for our party.
“Ou, you’re here. Come on upstairs.”
“Wait, that’s…”
“Oi, we’re going hunting after this. You had better make it quick!”
““Yeah!””
““Hunting~ hunting~~””
“Well, as you can see…” I gestured towards my impatient familiars.
[8] Willem-san can’t hear what my smaller familiars were saying but with Dora-chan zooming around his head and Sui bouncing excitedly in place, I’m sure he gets the message.“Oho, so you’re looking to go hunting, eh? Right! Straight to the warehouse!” [5] [6] I’m glad he did not try to delay us.
“Ou, Johan. It’s our most valuable customer again!”
“Ou! Brother! Your Orc General and Orc Leader have been dismantled. The meats are all ready.”
[8] “Thank you, I appreciate it,” I said. [8] “Well, it’s good that you pick up your meat now, I’ve been butchering nothing but Orcs these few days. It’s like there’s no end to them.” [8] “Ah, sorry about that…” [8] “No, no, we make plenty of money from Orc Meat so it’s good for us. I’m just a little overworked since everyone’s kind of excited about stocking up on Orc meat. Also, endless Orcs are kind of boring…” [8] “I see,” well, hang in there Johan-san.
Anyway, the breakdown for today’s purchase was as follows:
Orc Meat x 2 gold each
Orc Balls x 2 silver each
136 Regular Orcs
Orc Leader Balls x 11 gold
Orc General Balls x 12 gold
Total = 322 gold 2 silvers
Old Man Johan placed a sack of coins on the work table with a solid thump.
“Payment is in large gold coins today. There should be 32 large gold, 2 gold and 2 silver coins inside. Please check it.”
[5] “1, 2, 3… yup, it all checks out.”“Right, for the subjugation reward, considering the urgency of the request, it was a little higher than usual. Here you go, 200 gold in large gold coins, please check it.”
I checked the number of coins out of politeness and put them away in my [Item Box]. “Yes, everything checks out.”
Johan-san eyed my [Item Box] for a moment before saying, “Yo, brother, did you manage to catch anything interesting?”
“Maybe something S Class? Hahaha!” laughed Willem-san.
“Ah, well, I guess? Let’s see…”
[9]I still have the Gigantic Mimic Chameleon and Garuda that my familiars had hunted down last time. They don’t seem edible, so I might as well sell them instead of letting them turn into fertilizer inside my [Item Box].
“The monsters you bring me are always interesting but if you keep bringing out astounding things like Orthros and Chimera, our little guild will have trouble processing the- [5] WHAT IS THAT?!”
“Oh, uh, according to Fer, this is Gigantic Mimic Chameleon…”
“A GIGANTIC-”
“…and, ah, this one…”
“GARUDA!!?”
“…Mukouda-san,” said Willem-san a little faintly, “what’s with all these S class monsters…”
“A Garuda, and a Mimic Chameleon. This is the first time I see the real deal. Brother, I’ve been seeing all kinds of monsters I’ve only read about in books ever since I met you, hahaha…” Johan-san was laughing in an odd voice.
“Aren’t you the one who told me to show you rare monsters? And Guild Master, you told me to show you some S Class monsters…”
“Haha…”
“Ho…”
“Anyway, about the trade…”
“Aughhh, I’m sorry but it’s impossible…”
“Ahh…” I knew it.
“Well, we might be able to take the Gigantic Mimic Chameleon off your hands one day but we just spent our budget on the Chimera… it’s too bad…” [5] [6] “Yeah…” Johan-san was also looking at the monsters with some regret.
“Well, I shall see you off now. If you happen to pick up anything less extraordinary, do drop by again.”
“Alright,” I said. “Um…”
“Yes?”
“Where do you think I can sell something like a Garuda?”
“Hmm, possibly the Royal Capital or at least one of the dungeon cities.”
“I see,” I guess the Garuda would be sitting in the [Item Box] for a little while longer. I looked around and sidled closer to the Guild Master, “Ahem, speaking of which, about that thing…” I flashed a look upwards.
The Guild Master subconsciously ran his fingers through his luxurious brown hair. “Oh? Oh!”
[4] “We have instruction not to sell without the Count’s introduction, aside from you that is. You have a special privilege, but the price is…” I whispered the amount, hoping not to scare him.“I see! 50 gold is pricey but I guess for this kind of effect it’s worth it. Well, I shall have to work hard on my days off!”
[6] Well, I’m glad that he doesn’t think 50 gold was too much, which means Lambert-san was right. I really should trust my merchant friend’s judgement. However…
“On your days off?”
“Yup!” the Guild Master clenched his fist and slapped his very firm biceps. “Even Guild Masters have to go to the field when there aren’t enough high ranking Adventurers around. I was an A Ranker myself, you know? Sometimes, when the Guild needs a little more money, I’d go and hunt down something big for cash, hahaha!”
Well, Willem-san is looking very positive about his ability to make money even after I told him about the price of the Divine Medicine, so I guess it’s alright? [5] [6] “Oi!”
“Ahem, I should get going soon. Fer and my other familiars are going stir crazy from the lack of exercise.”
“Oh, that’s right. Well, good luck on your hunt! And be careful, although I guess that last bit is a little unnecessary for your party…”
“Haha…”
I left the Adventurer’s Guild amidst cries of:
“Slow!”
“Sorry, sorry,”
“Didn’t I tell you to hurry up just now?”
“Yes, yes, you did…”
““Sui’s sleeping, look! She waited so long that she fell asleep!”” [5]
“Ah, yes, sorry about that.”
“Humph, whatever, just get on.”
“Alright, alright,”
I climbed aboard the Fer Express and we sped off for the gate.
Eguchi Ren: Total gold = 87,509… it went up again…
[Gumihou: Just a little past 1000 words but seems kind of meaningless… so please enjoy the next chapter too. Even though it’s a shocking 2200 words even after Gumi had shaved off 500 words from it, lol][1] Structural Change: Combine 2 paragraphs [2] Structural Change: Combine 3 paragraphs [3] Structural Change: Combine paragraph & dialogue [4] Structural Change: Change passive sentence to dialogue [5] Delete Repetitive or Pointless Information [6] Additional Information for Aesthetic Purpose [7] Add Dialogue Tag [8] Creative Licence Taken – Have a proper dialogue at the Guild. [9] Timing of the dialogue and a little juvenile. There were also a lot of unnecessary dithering around which Gumi deleted.

So, being a guild master doesn’t mean no more hunting, though this novel already had dragon crazy elf guild master as an example, lolz. Poor Dora, probably has nightmares from time to time.
Thanks for the second chapter this week! Awesome translation as always! May God bless you!
Thanks.
